Ever since I was little, home cooked food, family dinners and gatherings always included dairy products, ALWAYS. Dairy was the “main staple”, anything and everything had either ghee, butter, paneer, cheese, curd, or just plain milk in it and unfortunately we didn’t have any vegans in the family. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I drank cow’s milk in the morning, early evening and every night (yes that’s thrice in a day) while growing up, because milk has “calcium” and that is what you are supposed to drink in order to grow big and strong, right? Well, that is what MOST parents are led to believe. Although COW’S MILK IS MEANT FOR BABY COWS ONLY LIKE BREAST MILK IS MEANT FOR INFANTS. 🙄😷
I had paneer or cheese in almost every dish, as an appetiser or as part of the main course. It was like, I was taught to fall in love with cheese. Like there is nothing better in this world. Ofcourse I loved both paneer and cheese, and who doesn’t when you have to eat it everyday and as a part of every meal. 🤦🏻♂️

One afternoon in late 2018 I came across “Cowspiracy” on Netflix and you can say that after watching it, I instantly connected to the plant-based lifestyle. My mind was in horror, shock and I was really disgusted (mostly with my self). What did I do? Why was I eating all of that since ... forever? I was feeling so bad, I can’t explain. 😞🤬
I know most slaughterhouses don’t run the same, and they all don’t treat the animals poorly but after what I saw, I could not get those images out of my head. I knew somewhere deep inside, that it was all wrong. Ethically wrong. I don’t see why someone should lose their life just so you can have a snack. 😒😏
That feeling of anger, sorrow and guilt opened up a new door into an unknown world. I knew my lifestyle would never be the same, and it was a major change. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Veganism to me is not a sacrifice, it is a joy. Guilt free eating every fucking day. All my Runs, Workouts, Yoga Practice and meals are 100% Plant-Powered 🌱👊🏼💪🏼
Every living creature has the right to live ethically.

One thing for sure, when I wake up in the morning, all I can think of is what a precious privilege it is to be Alive, to Breathe, to Think, to Enjoy and to Love.

The journey to Berlin Marathon was one such magical experience for me. I simply loved it. 😊🤭
